Breaking the fast - Salade de tomates et calmar

I went to Bangsar Village yesterday to get my Baju Melayu and some gifts for my loved ones ;) Did my groceries there, too. Originally, I was looking for some black cherry tomatoes, a kind of my favourite cherry tomatoes in France... but it wasn't available here... I have learned to prepare this salad from my French classmate when I visited her family in Jouy. But this simple recipe had turned into an incredible appertizer!

I promised my family members to prepare Salade de tomates noir (Black tomatoes salad) ONLY if the tomatoes are available. So I ended up with a squid tomato salad (Salade de tomates et calmar ) as appertizer for iftar (breaking the fast) instead.
Lovely oval cherry tomatoes! I actually ate an entire bowl of it, macam makan strawberry,
right after terawih...
Here is my Salade de tomates et calmar !

To prepare it:

1. Simply marinate the cut squid with fennel powder, honey, lime juice and grill it.

2. Mix the squid with cut cherry tomatoes, chopped parsley and cucumber .

3. Dress with vinaigrette (traditional french dressing) which you can simply prepare at home.

4. To prepare the vinaigrette, combine honey, mustard, garlic and flavorful oils and vinegars.

Selamat berpuasa!

Shockly, it's shock Pink!!!

Travelling Home, When Autumn Falls...

This will be my first Raya without dad being around, and of course I'll celebrating raya in Malaysia! I am already in KL and can't wait to look forward to the raya preparations.

Just before I left Paris, autumn was just about to begin... I just luv the smell of fall...
Took this at the Gardens of Tuilleries, the very garden that Marie Antoinette and husband crossed when fleeing the angry revolutionaries....
The garden at the Notre Dame...
Crossing the Notre Dame on my way to the English Bookstore (Royal Shakespeare) at old Paris...

The grand lady in contrast, in miniature...

They don't call it the grand lady for nothing!

Notre Dame's spire as seen through this quaint Paris backstreet...

Evian and Perier are among the cheap local mineral water available here in Paris. I luv fizzy ones more, and had tried almost all that were on the supermart's rack. My favourite ones for August in Paris are as pictured below.

To me, Jouvence is the best and most delicious!
I took this shot during my two hours stop-over at the Bandaranaike Airport, Colombo, Sri Lanka, enroute from Paris to KL. What a scary, cloudy day! Anyway Selamat berpuasa!!
